Annette Tucker
News – M-F, KLKC 1540 AM

I started my career in radio, at KLKC in Parsons, in 1980 and worked with Sadie “The News Lady” Torrence for
several years. I came and went a few times, working for while at KKOW in Pittsburg and KKOY in Chanute. I
was involved with several family type businesses, including a sweet shop. However, my journey kept leading
me back to KLKC. My experience focused primarily on news, but I also served as a disc jockey and a
salesperson. At a small market radio station, staff may have to fill many job duties, such as hosting and
recording talk shows, working as a co-host for the Trading Post and producing audio for on-air use. I have
had the opportunity to meet and interview many interesting people and continue to enjoy greeting each day,
wondering what new adventure it will bring.
